A week on Friday (30th November) sees the start of Cape Town’s annual three day long beer festival. Cape Town Festival of Beers takes place at Hamilton’s Rugby Club in Green Point and is the largest beer festival in the Southern Hemisphere.

With 60 breweries in attendance, both local and international, CTFOB will showcase over 200 beers. As well as the beer, there will be ciders, food stalls, live music and more.

Tickets can be bought on the day, but to avoid the queues it is advisable to book in advance here.

Now comes the decision of which day to attend. The most die hard beer fans will attend all three days, but here’s my view on what each day is about:

  • Friday - This is the day to choose if you want to try lots of new beers and chat to the breweries about their beers.
  • Saturday - If you're looking to party hard, choose Saturday to visit CTFOB. Expect a great party atmosphere, with less beer tasting and more beer drinking. It can get pretty wild!
  • Sunday - This is family day. Bring the kids, and those under 12 get in for free. A much more chilled day where you can enjoy some great beers while the kids play in the family area.

For me Friday is the best day to visit, I love to visit each stand, taste the beers and chat to the brewers about their beer. My aim is to try all the beer on offer.

So this is why we have two pairs of tickets to give away for the Friday. To enter is very simple, just visit our page on either Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, like our page and tag the person you will be bringing along with you in the comments. For an extra entry you can share the post and to increase your chances of winning further, enter on all three social media pages.

Entries close at 5pm on Wednesday 21st November and winners will be announced on our social media pages shortly after.
